John H. Malanga has over 15 years of experience providing investment banking services to middle market clients throughout North America.  Over his career, he has led and executed various equity, debt, mergers and acquisitions, and financial advisory transactions for both public and private companies.  Most recently, Mr. Malanga was a Managing Director with SMH Capital’s Energy Group focusing on providing corporate finance and financial advisory services to clients in the exploration and production, oil service and midstream sectors.  He also has significant private equity experience through management of several investments on behalf of Sanders Morris Mundy (predecessor to SMH Capital) and its clients. 

Mr. Malanga began his investment banking career in the Energy Group at Jefferies & Company.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Texas A&M University and a Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in finance from Rice University.
